Our Story
Jersey City Writers is a community organization that inspires and supports local writers by:
- Hosting dozens of monthly events, including writing workshops, marathons, prompts, and readings.
- Welcoming writers of all forms (fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and more), genres (literary, romance, crime, horror, sci-fi, and more) and levels (from beginner to published).
- Connecting community members through a shared love of the written word.
Your donation will help us improve our programming and our organization as a whole. The funds we raise through this year's Hudson Gives will go toward:
- Keeping the doors open at our home to continue to support our community of writers. Our home is located at 157B First St, Rm 608, Jersey City, NJ.
- Funding scholarships to ensure all community members can access our ticketed programming regardless of their financial situation.
- Running special educational events with guest speakers and holding our writing retreats.
- Financing our regular workshops, which are entirely donation based to ensure community-wide accessibility.
The community we've built together is strong and resilient but can't continue without your support!
