Our Story
Since 1957, Jersey City-based Hudson Community Enterprises has been dedicated to one mission: providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Innovation and creativity have marked our long history from our founding until today.
Our efforts include workforce development, and training and employment in our Social Enterprise Businesses. We offer innovative high school/youth programs include an employment/internship program for high school age students with disabilities, such as Project SEARCH.
In addition, we sponsor career development and job preparation programs for employment in private or public businesses, as well as HCE's unique approach to employment through its Social Enterprise Businesses: Electronic Content Management (scanning and document management); Mobile and on-site Document Destruction (shredding); Building Maintenance and Management; Packaging and Fulfillment, Digital Printing and Embroidery. These full-fledged businesses employ over 700 individuals in the State of NJ, of which over 75% have disabilities.
In addition, in 2023, we launched our Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Services. Through our new Center for Employment and Inclusion for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing, we will be providing individuals within the Deaf community the employment services they need to find and keep jobs.
Through our new DEAFinite Solutions suite of businesses, we will be offering Deaf-friendly services such as ASL interpreting, services to make your business more Deaf-friendly, as well as offering Deaf-friendly products.
